"Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." -Matthew 18:4

Gainesville Shower

Cousin Caroline and Aunt Drema hosted such a wonderful shower for me in Gainesville at one of my favorite restaurants ever. It was nice to be able to share in the excitement of Baby James with my co-workers and Gainesville friends. I knew the shower would be amazing starting from the cutest invitations that Caroline found and then the food was absolutely amazing. Allison gifted me the "Weaver" bassinet and it was stuffed with some of the cutest monogrammed goodies from burp cloths to outfits and they are all unbelievably precious that if we have another child, they will have to have the same initials so we can use them again. :)

The food was to die for. And the decorations (all Gator of course) were too cute.

Everyone sitting at the table waiting on lunch

Uncle PatPat came by to pick up Drew after their morning of golf

Ashley helping me keep track of all the generous gifts.

Ashley got me the Pottery Barn elephant I registered for! He now lives on James's nightstand

More super cute outfits

Love the baby Gator shoes. Can't wait to get them on his sweet little feet!

Vicki made the trip all the way from Atlanta to celebrate and get me organized for James's arrival

The finished product of Laura's hard work! Such a beautiful piece of work.

My mom, aka the paparazzi. Loving the soft, precious stuffed gator

In other news, James's due date came and went. Due dates are cruel in my opinion I think they should give you a time frame to expect a baby instead of a day. Because when that day comes and then goes; you get a little more anxious for things to start moving along. Hopefully, the next post will be Baby James's birth announcement!

37 weeks!

"...As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience" -Luke 8:15

Holy moly have these been a busy, busy couple of weeks! And don't bother thinking or passing along the "if you think you're busy now, just wait til the baby comes...."statement. I'm well aware that my life is about to change drastically and am looking for only positive, helpful thoughts! :)

I had my 37 week check up today, which means I'm FULL TERM! There are no amount of words that describe the feeling of a baby that will be born in the healthiest manor possible! But it turns out going to the MD every week is not awesome (long story about even longer wait times). The appointments have been going as well as they could. All my stats are good and the baby is growing excellent.  I get an ultrasound next week to determine an approx size of the baby (I feel like maybe not knowing might be better than knowing at this point). She says the baby's head is down, but sometimes I think he moves into a bit of a transverse position where his rear end is on the side. I know he straightens himself out though because sometimes his butt is pressing so hard on my diaphragm that I'm out of breath just laying down! But let's be honest, he's quickly running out of room. Which means that "dropping" for me is a joke; I still have just as much trouble having to pee all the time to difficulty breathing. I'm not sure I'll just be dealing with one or the other.

I never wanted to that person who was excited to not be pregnant any more and I really have enjoyed the ride, but I'm close to ready to get off and start another journey. I can't remember what it's like to not be pregnant/hindered by this gigantic belly of mine. Today, I was washing grapes and my arms just aren't quite long enough to get me to the sink. Speaking of fruit, I've reached the watermelon stage!! He's getting close to 7 pounds! I haven't had any contractions or Braxton Hicks, my MD says this doesn't really mean much as some women don't have them until active labor. I think this is James' way of saying he's quite content where he is and doesn't have any immediate plans to make an appearance anytime soon; much to my chagrin. Doesn't he know how anxious we are to meet him?!?!

We have had a lot of meetings with many different clinicians to prepare for his arrival. I had a meeting with a lactation consultant and learned more about breast pumps that anyone would probably ever care to learn! :) We've met with the craniofacial team who will meet us over in the hospital and help us set up everything with his feeding needs once James does decide to arrive. And my OB is going to help set us up with some of the more experienced LDR and post-partum RNs. We've built quite a support team and since a lot of his needs will have to be determined once he gets here, we are kind of on cruise control and basically just gathering as much info as we can.

The nursery is not completed yet! However, everything has been ordered! We just need to put it all together. Hopefully, the glider will come in by next weekend and there will be pictures to post!

I had my last 2 showers and am positively overwhelmed by the amount of items we received. It's crazy to have all this stuff and no baby to try it out on! My dad put the swing together. My mom, Amy, Allison and Vicki helped get my drawers and clothes organized. And Anna will be here to put the finishing touches once the rest of the furniture and decor arrive. Some of my co-workers also threw a joint shower for myself and another couple who are expecting a baby girl (today is her due date actually!).

Here are some pictures from the shower at Lorrie's. Gainesville shower pictures to come

I'm sure I'm leaving out some really good stuff, but after my long day, I'm having trouble remember much of anything other than I'm tired.  One last picture of:

Swing that my dad painstakingly put together and is now being occupied by Ann and Andy until James comes along. Hopefully will have ultrasound pictures to post next!!!!
